The End is Almost Near

Well the truck is packed and we've had our last day at work. Two major steps down..

We've been packing for days and today we picked up the truck and loaded that. Fortunately my uncle, Todd, is the master packer so that went really well. We were able to downsize from a 16 foot truck to a 12 footer, which will make driving so much easier. It was brutally hot but we had a lot of fun (for lack of a better word) anyways. And we finished before the most crucial storm of the summer hit. Trees fell over and I swear the wind blew my car while I was driving. It was perfect though, because thunderstorms are one of the things I will miss the most. Anyways, we still have random things around the house to pack up and throw in the back of the truck, but that's one major step conquered.

Yesterday was our last day at work. :( It was really hard saying bye to everyone - I have been lucky enough to work with some really amazing people. As Daniel always said we really are a family. I told Isabella I would kill her if there was any cake giving or little goodbye events (I hate being the center of attention, and this is even worse than the birthday singing). I ended up sparing her life, but it made it really rough. But the card they gave Zach and me was hilarious and the cake was delicious, so it was all worth it. It wasn't only hard saying bye to my coworkers but I will really miss some of the members. Some people there were so incredibly miserable to be around, but others really came to feel like family as well. Hopefully I'll get to come back and visit them soon..

Speaking of family, Zach's came over for pizza tonight. It was really nice having everyone gathered around together. His mom and grandma will be back tomorrow fortunately, so the goodbye's weren't too rough today, but it's still sad knowing that we wont be able to do things like that as much anymore. We just keep telling everyone that they will have to come visit in California, so hopefully they all take us up on that.

Other excitement for today?? I got an iPad! I have a pretty good feeling Zach will be using it more often than I do, though. Oh, and someone put an offer in on my parents house. That will relieve a lot of stress right in time for our vacation.

So now I just have to take care of the three extensive lists I have made for tomorrow it'll be all over and done with. Everything I do, like shower, I think about how its probably the last time I'll get to do that in this house. It's all really hitting me, but at the same time I think I'm still in denial.

  1. Be excited! The first end is near, but the seconding beginning is just around the corner. That thunderstorm was all for you.

  2. That thunderstorm was AWESOME. But yes, I'm very excited, but I'll still miss home a lot. I had a good life there, so it's sad to leave that behind.
